Copy a link in the Facebook app

1. Open the individual video

   Tap the video or reel so its own player is open. A profile, feed, caption, notification, or search-results address does not identify one piece of media reliably.

2. Use the video's Share control

   Choose Share and then Copy link. If the app offers More options, use it to open the system share sheet and copy the address from there.

3. Paste the complete address

   Return to F4Facebook and paste without adding punctuation or commentary. Never paste a password, cookie, access token, or page source.

Copy a link in a desktop browser

Open the video in its own page or player, then use Facebook's Share menu or copy the full address from the browser bar. The address must begin with https://. If the browser bar still shows a general feed or profile address, open the video timestamp, title, or player before copying again.

Recognized link formats

F4Facebook recognizes several Facebook-supplied shapes because the same public video can be shared from different apps and devices. These examples are intentionally non-clickable and contain no real identifier.

• facebook.com/ExamplePage/videos/ExampleId — a video page path.
• facebook.com/watch/?v=ExampleId — a watch address with a video identifier.
• facebook.com/reel/ExampleId — an individual reel.
• facebook.com/share/v/ExampleCode/ — a compact video share link.
• facebook.com/share/r/ExampleCode/ — a Facebook-supplied reel share link.
• fb.watch/ExampleCode/ — a short link that must resolve to an allowed Facebook destination.
• m.facebook.com/ExamplePage/videos/ExampleId — a supported mobile-host address.

What normalization changes

Supported mobile hosts such as m.facebook.com, web.facebook.com, and mbasic.facebook.com are normalized conservatively to the standard Facebook host. Known marketing parameters can be removed, while the path and parameters that may identify the video are preserved. F4Facebook does not guess a missing identifier or rewrite an unrelated website into a Facebook URL.

Share and short links

A /share/v/ or /share/r/ path contains a share code rather than proving the final video's audience. If a Facebook share link fails, open it in a normal browser and copy the final supported video or reel address after it resolves. An fb.watch code can similarly expire, enter a consent or login flow, or lead to content that is no longer public.

Do not submit the same unresolved short code repeatedly. A fresh full address is more useful, and rapid repeat requests can meet the service rate limit without changing the destination's availability.

Recognized does not mean public

The URL checker can classify a hostname and path without fetching the post. Visibility is a separate question. Open the copied address in a signed-out or private browser window: if Facebook requires an account, friendship, age confirmation, or regional access, a public-link downloader cannot remove that restriction.
