Start with the displayed error

F4Facebook uses stable error categories so a link problem can be separated from a browser-save problem. Match the wording you see to the sections below before changing the URL or trying again.

Invalid URL, unsupported domain, or unsupported format

An invalid URL is usually incomplete, mixed with surrounding text, or missing HTTPS. An unsupported domain points outside the explicit Facebook and fb.watch allowlist. An unsupported format uses an allowed host but does not identify a video, watch page, reel, share link, or recognized mobile video path.

1. Open the individual video or reel rather than a profile, feed, or caption.
2. Choose Share and Copy link, then remove spaces or punctuation outside the address.
3. Use the URL checker to classify the address without starting a download.

Private, login, age, or region restrictions

Test the address in a private browser window. A login prompt, friends-only audience, age gate, or geographic message means the media is not publicly reachable from the service. F4Facebook does not accept account credentials, cookies, access tokens, or page source and cannot imitate an authorized viewer.

Deleted, unavailable, or no media found

Confirm that the original post still opens and contains a playable video. The owner may have deleted it, changed its audience, replaced the post, or left a text/photo post at the copied address. Copying a fresh address can correct an outdated share link, but it cannot recover removed media.

Reel not detected

Open the reel full-screen and copy from the reel player's Share control, not the creator profile or caption menu. A direct address normally contains /reel/; Facebook may instead provide a complete /share/r/ link. Recognition does not prove that the reel is public. If a share code fails, open it in a regular browser and copy the final supported address.

fb.watch redirect failed

An fb.watch link can fail when its code is stale, its redirect enters a login or consent loop, or its destination has become restricted. Open the short link once, allow Facebook to resolve it, and copy the resulting full facebook.com watch or video address. F4Facebook bounds redirects and revalidates destinations instead of following an unlimited chain.

No audio

First play the original post with device volume enabled. The upload may be silent, Facebook may expose a video-only rendition, or licensed reel audio may not be available in a compatible progressive MP4. Try another backend-supplied option when one is shown. F4Facebook does not add, synthesize, or retrieve a missing soundtrack.

No HD option

HD is available only when the public source supplies a compatible higher-resolution format. A new upload may still be processing, and an older upload may exist only in standard definition. The service cannot upscale missing detail or create a resolution that the source does not expose.

Video opens instead of downloading

Some browsers play MP4 files inline. This is often browser behavior rather than an extraction failure. Use the browser's Download, Save video, or Save as command. On iPhone, check Safari's download list and the Files app; on Android, check Chrome Downloads or the device file manager. Open F4Facebook in a full browser instead of an embedded social-app browser when saving controls are missing.

Platform delivery change

An extraction-failed message can occur after Facebook changes how a public player delivers media. Confirm that the post is public and keep the address, then try later rather than supplying account data or switching to a suspicious workaround. A server error or timeout describes a temporary request failure, not permission to bypass the platform.

Rate limited

Wait briefly before another request. Rate limits protect the service from abusive automated traffic. Repeatedly submitting the same unchanged link during the limit will not repair its visibility, identifier, or source format.
