An fb.watch link can fail when Facebook redirects it into a login loop, its short code expires, or the destination is no longer public. F4Facebook first attempts a bounded public embed resolution and then extracts the resulting canonical Facebook watch address.

Topic-specific troubleshooting
The resolver calls a fixed Facebook embed endpoint with strict timeouts and parses no more than one megabyte of response text. It does not follow unlimited redirects, send account credentials, or trust a destination outside the Facebook allowlist. If resolution succeeds, only the canonical video address is passed to the existing yt-dlp adapter. When it fails, using the full destination URL is more useful than submitting the same short link repeatedly. The service records only a safe fb_watch category and diagnostic code, not the complete link or video identifier.
