Facebook Reel Not Detected

Check why a Facebook reel URL is not recognized and copy the individual public /reel/ link instead of a profile or redirect.

A reel is not detected when the submitted URL identifies a profile, feed, caption, redirect, or unsupported path rather than the individual public reel. Copy the link from the reel player and confirm that it contains /reel/ or resolves to that path.

    Open the reel in its dedicated player, not a profile grid preview.

  2. Step 2

    Choose Share and Copy link, then inspect the hostname and path with the Facebook URL checker.

  3. Step 3

    If a share/r redirect is copied, open it and copy the final reel address before downloading.

Common failure reasons

  • The copied address belongs to the creator profile.
  • The reel was deleted or its audience changed.
  • The share redirect now requires a login or consent step.
  • A malformed path lacks the reel identifier.
